1. The cool tones of wood effect flooring is always popular. But this year warm and vibrant colours are trending – artistic patterns in arc and curved designs (as opposed to sharp angular heritage and Victorian style tiles).
2. A big trend is to combine flooring. Mixing wood and tile and mismatching shapes and textures. Combination flooring in an open plan space works well in differentiating spaces such as a formal dining room space or edging a fireplace.
3. Geometric Patterns – renovating old properties or styling a new build with the resurgence of heritage tiling – geometric LVT is huge this year and looks to remain popular in years to come, even though the newest trend of softer edges is certainly popular.
4. Neutral Tones – the benefits of neutral tones are many, with the biggest being that they allow you to be more creative / experimental with your other interior design and they allow you to change your décor as they match with so many more colours and effects – so if you like repainting or wallpapering regularly, a neutral tone will work best for you. The warmer colour trends of the past few years are now making way for cooler ashy tones.
5. Herringbone and Chevron Patterns – Herringbone has always been popular as it is a classic design and works perfectly well in small or large spaces.
Chevron is taking over the herringbone pattern in popularity as it is a more modern take on the classic. It is a very pleasing pattern that can showcase the wood effect planks really well.

These runners are grown in Cumbria, spun in Yorkshire and woven in Kidderminster. They are woven using a combination of undyed wool yarns combined or paired with black, the colours reflect the earthy rustic palette of the Cumbrian hills and fells.
These runners are authentically British carpets that are rugged and durable due to the natural resilience of one of Britain’s best loved and hardiest sheep breeds.

Carpet is making a welcome comeback for 2022.
Whichever room you are decorating, it’s worth making a fuss of the floor. In a living room, we recommend a statement rug or carpet. Not only will it ground the room but it can serve as the starting point from which to build the scheme. It’s a worthwhile investment, and your feet will thank you come winter.

By treating the floor as the ‘5th wall’, carpet is a fantastic way to introduce colour or pattern into your home. The floor should not be an after-thought, instead the entire room can be styled from the floor up!
Choosing a bright, bold contrasting colour or pattern in rich tones or geometrics, the carpet can be a way of self-expression. Or alternatively an earthy, organic natural carpet is something that will endure for many years.
Almost all carpet manufacturers have ranges covering both styles and the choice then falls on the individual and it should be considered next to the other 4 walls. Some trends currently taking hold are below. These can bring great joy and comfort to a person when used correctly.
1. The natural option
2. Eco-chic
3. Hotel Luxe
4. Bold and Bright
5. Maximalism
6. Pattern Play
7. Geometrics
8. Jewel Tones

The Christmas tree is up and the sheep kindly donated by www.hughmackay.com are helping to create the festive cheer in the showroom. We have decided to have a wool theme this year at Suffolk Carpet Weavers, and have made the hats for the sheep and the pom poms for the Christmas Tree. The wool theme has been chosen because we buck the trend of most carpet retailers and sell mostly woollen carpets which we have starting from as little as £16.99 per square metre. We stock synthetics too at various prices but our customers seem to prefer wool.
Pop into our showroom to take a look around at all of our ranges. We have a large two-storey showroom in Old Martlesham that has many ranges and styles. Call us or pop in.
Grey is the on-trend colour that we are all wanting. Grey is amazing and its versatility is what makes it so popular.
Each era has a trend. The 80s were chintz and busy or magnolia. The 70s were bright garish patterns with clashing colours.
Now we have greys and monochromes that can be made edgy and modern or charming country home.
Greys can be calming and soothing or vivid, lively and energetic. It can be added to warmer neutrals, add a sophisticated understated pattern or you can add a shot of bright colour to keep it modern.
When looking at interior designs and colour charts there are a myriad of possibilities and colours. From the dark brooding shades like Charcoal, Greystoke or Granite to the light charming shades like Frosted Silver, Aluminium or Cape Diamond.
In the carpet world, we also have the options of pattern and textures. They come in stripes and tartans or geometric patterns and different textures like twists, loops, herringbones, velvets, wools and synthetics. The beauty of carpets is that so many colours are available in so many different budgets.
