Established in 1988, Suffolk Carpet Weavers Ltd is the local source for quality flooring and bespoke carpeting. We are proud to provide flooring for homes and businesses across the area. Whether you are looking for cosy carpeting for your little one’s bedroom or top-rated safety flooring for your workplace, we have what you need.

We also have a staff of friendly and highly trained experts. We thoroughly understand not only our own inventory, but also the principles of design. We also offer bespoke carpeting! When only a custom design will do, we can provide it. We offer carpet weaving and binding services to suit all of your needs.

Company History

Suffolk Carpet Weavers Ltd have been trading since 1988 so this year is our 30th anniversary and we will be holding an event later in the year to celebrate our continued success and to thank customers for your continued custom. John Masters and Henry Wilden founded the company and started trading at 137 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich before buying a builder’s yard in Newton Road, Ipswich and turning it into a shop.

Then we moved to Witnesham where we manufactured our own carpets on our own looms (so unlike others, we have the weaving knowledge as well as the knowledge of the styles of carpets).

After Witnesham, we moved to larger premises on Farthing Road, Ipswich before moving 8 years ago to the Martlesham showroom where we are still based today, Unit 5, Bridge Business Park, Top Street, Old Martlesham, Suffolk, IP12 4RB. We have recently started refurbishing the premises, rebranding with a new logo and colour scheme to bring us up to date.

Grey carpets and fittings now adorn our showroom, which is on two floors, ensuring we are keeping up with the latest trends. We stock all the most recent colours, textures and styles as well as the more traditional styles, so there is something to suit everyone. We stock wool and synthetic carpets to suit all tastes and budgets and some of the LVTs (Luxury Vinyl Flooring) that are popular, like Karndean and Camaro etc.

We are a long-established company and are proud to employ some of the best fitters in the area with many years of experience. Our staff are helpful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable.

John Masters is Director but Henry Wilden has retired from Suffolk Carpet Weavers Ltd. Jess Watkins is now a Director having taken over from Henry, and Teresa Knights is in sales and advertising.
